The vast majority of us today rarely achieve better than mediocrity.
We would all love to be wildly successful yet 80% of us would change our jobs or careers if we could; less than 20% of the population earn an income they’re satisfied with.
Why the mediocrity?
- Is it poor education?
- Is it because most of us aren’t smart?
- Is it because of our parents?
The answer to each question is a loud “NO!”
Truth: the vast majority of people are AS smart and educated as those people who have achieved extraordinary success.
So what’s missing?
- Meaning that drives the mission
- Self Awareness and self-belief
- Methods or strategies that work

We live in a day when it’s politically correct to pat people on the back for just “showing up.” As well-meaning as that may be, it’s counterproductive.
We are all familiar with the parable regarding talents where the business owner gave three different amounts of money to three of his managers to invest while he went on a lengthy trip. When he returned each manager was asked to give an account of what they had ACHIEVED with the money.
The first who had been given the most, had doubled the money through wise and aggressive use of it.
The second, who had been given substantially less, also doubled the amount of money that he had been responsible for.
The third who had been given much less than the other two, had simply buried the money in a safe place so he wouldn’t lose it.
Jesus didn’t offer words of praise for people who used their talents and gifts just to “get by” (as illustrated by the parable), and neither should we.
