How do you keep your motivation? You come up with a new idea or approach. You can feel it in your entire being that this is what needs to happen for you. You are excited and can’t wait to reap the rewards and then you take a break. Or perhaps you start talking yourself out of what you started. Maybe you convince yourself that you were wrong about everything!
The journey you embark on, in transforming ideas into action is one requiring commitment, courage and a “I’m going to make this happen, no matter what” attitude. In addition to planning how you will get from where you are, to where you want to be, you need to have some things that you can rely on that will help to move you forward when your motivation may not be at an all time high.
You might need to have a couple books to help you, a playlist of songs that energize you, to exercise, or listen to a podcast of powerful speakers. My favorite podcast is Motivation Daily by Motiversity. I don’t ever know what I will get. I open up Spotify, click on the podcast and blindly choose an episode. It’s always worth it. You may write a bunch of affirmations that you can refer to just at the right moment.
Julie Andrews said something really interesting:
Some people regard discipline as a chore. For me, it is a kind of order that sets me free to fly.
Discipline is less about punishment and restriction and more about creating structure and organization in your life
With this in mind you need to get specific about which practices will make you feel like the conqueror that you are. These must be non-negotiable. They will make up part of your routine every single day, sans exception!
So…which playlist will you compile and listen to every day?
Which book will you keep at your side and reference read on a daily basis?
Don’t let the lack of a consistent routine thwart your goals. Get the specifics of your routine together and make a commitment to following through daily. This way you avoid wasting time on indecision and you get to live the way you choose without regret.
Your success depends on how well you play the game. Click here for a step by step view of what the journey looks like in detail. Here’s to your success!
