And this despite the numerous books, lectures, programs, TikTok and YouTube videos being produced in the “How to” genre.
This also means that there are numerous opportunities for solo professionals, consultants and larger service based organizations to provide solutions for these problems that still exist. Don’t get confused into thinking that in your particular area, that everything is already solved. The unfortunate truth is that many of these well packaged “How to” guides are still missing the mark and here’s why:
The focus is usually on amplification revolving around two questions:
- How will the world find out about you?
- How do you attract the right people to what you have?
That is because there are a number of assumptions being made:
- You know what problem you’re solving
- You know who has this problem
- You know that they have the resources to solve this problem
- And finally you believe that they want YOU to solve it
We need to spend more time identifying WHAT PROBLEM we’re solving way before we make decisions about what to post, on which social media platform and how frequently.
Time also needs to be spent figuring out if your target audience KNOWS that this problem exists for them and whether or not they want it solved.
And then the big one – do they have the resources to pay to fix the problem they know they have and this last one might be difficult for our egos but do they want YOU to solve it for them.
I have met so many people, who have a problem, know they have a problem but don’t have the resources to fix the problem and so they continue to struggle.
Awareness and clarity ALWAYS comes first which is why most businesses fail.
Not because statistically this is bound to happen. No – businesses fail because we skip important aspects of the foundation and instead struggle unnecessarily trying to figure it out, grasping at one shiny object after the other, where sometimes it seems to work but could never be sustained, and then finding ourselves at night (yeah it’s usually nighttime isn’t it) having conversations with ourselves as to whether we are in the right business or perhaps “they just can’t see the value I’m offering!” Neither of these thoughts are helpful if you find yourself scrambling daily to make ends meet.
This is no way to live and you shouldn’t have to.
So in this period before the break of a New Year, why not take some time to truly figure out what problem you are actually solving first.
There are more problems unsolved like never before. The world needs your solution.
I’m not sure if you want me to help you do this, but if you do, then here are some ways I can help. Select the option that suits you best and remember Clarify before you Amplify™
