** HINT: It’s not a learning problem. It’s a clarity problem.

How will you share your wisdom today?

An Instagram post from Chris Do sparked my interest to research Director Quentin Tarantino. Chris said:

I saw a quote by @tarantinoxx that said “I’m making movies for me. Everybody else is invited.”

Such a powerful concept from a truly unique voice in cinema.

Then he went on to ask:

Who are you making content for?

In the endless pursuit to please the algorithm gods, we lose the whole point of why we create in the first place.

It’s because, as @davidcbaker writes, “you gain clarity through articulation”.

You write to discover what you know. Not to chase a “like”. Write to express your ideas. Write to share your joy, pain, discoveries, to tell your story.

The timing of this particular post is immaculate.

Just last night, I was about to put off my daily writing commitment and start again today. I was tired and thinking – “why bother – no one is going to read this anyway…” – you know, self deprecating thoughts of that nature.

However I chose to write anyway and then saw the post by Chris this morning. Serendipitous.

In an August 2023 about Tarantino I lifted this:

Unlike many film directors who, when asked which is their favorite film they have made or if they watch their own productions sometime later, Quentin Tarantino does not mince his words and gives a clear answer to all these questions.

According to the American director, he loves all the films he has made, because, plain and simple, he makes them for himself and no one else.

I love them! I love my films, I make them for me, everyone else is invited

“Every time they put my movies on TV I think, ‘Hey! Now I guess I’m going to watch Jackie Brown for a while. I’m not them, I’m very happy with my work.

What’s your motive for sharing?

Sharing our wisdom with others can bring more meaning and purpose to our lives and our journey here on earth.

Lessons learned are valuable but passing on the insight and experience gained can make their impact on our lives much more powerful.

As David C. Baker said, not only do we gain a great deal of satisfaction in our sharing and subsequently giving, but forming our knowledge into tangible ideas reinforces these concepts in our own minds…allowing us to enjoy a deeper understanding of what we have learned.

In what ways can you share your wisdom and knowledge today?

  • Perhaps by uplifting your community by sharing with college students
  • Maybe, speaking to women who are transitioning and reentering the world of work
  • Starting conversations with impoverished youth who seek better opportunities

Think about the challenges you’ve faced up until now – how did you gain your current level of mastery and who do you know who could benefit from your wisdom?

My horoscope was spot on today:

By finding ways to share your knowledge and insights with others today, you can watch in awe as the power of your journey is transferred to others who will go on to create a better world for us all.

And to that I’ll add…AMEN!
