The real work in bringing anything to life if how we manage our thoughts. I daresay it is the hardest work. Our preprogramming makes it sometimes feel impossible but there is hope.
If you’ve been trying to change your thoughts in your head, you will have a hard time doing so. However if you write down the thought, and see it in black and white, then you can consciously choose another thought, perhaps the opposite of what you’re currently thinking – then write that down and place your focus there.
The change may seem slow and sometimes painful but it’s a way out of living a life that seems inescapable into one filled with possibility.
You can also play the what-if game.
What if everything was always working out for me?
There is always a way out but out of habit, remember the preprogramming? Well we choose lack and our thoughts lead us fast and furious to the very things we fear.
What if instead of lack, we chose to look for evidence of abundance – instances of thriving and happiness or our version of success?
What do you think will happen?
What if good-feeling experiences could begin to dominate your life?
Next time you think a scary, unwanted, frightening thought…write it down. Look at it. Sit with it. Then choose what you do want to experience. Write that down. Repeat it to yourself. Pay attention to what is coming up for you. Further uncomfortable thoughts or feelings have messages. Ask – what are you trying to tell me? Express in writing, gratitude for the lesson then let go and trust.
You might think that this is hard. What seems hard to me is living in a prison of lack and limitation, meanwhile feeling the full force of your potential, trapped inside you because you’re stuck and unable to create success on your terms.
I help professional service providers who have difficulty connecting with and understanding their value, create success on their terms. Do you know what makes you irreplaceable – the one thing that you bring to the table that no one else can match? Let’s talk…
