** HINT: It’s not a learning problem. It’s a clarity problem.

Competency without alignment = Burnout

You have the vision, the framework, your plan of action. You design a roadmap for execution and you determine criteria for measuring impact.

This is clear, crisp and linear. Yet things still fall apart.

Some say competency might be the missing link; but I’d argue that competency without alignment just leads to burnout!

In my work with organizations, and the professionals who work within, I often see smart people working with clear frameworks, yet they remain stuck? Why? Because the strategy isn’t built around who they are or how they work best. It’s built on competency alone.

If your purpose, the people who work for you and the processes in place are not in alignment, you are guaranteed chaos. Not the loud kind but the quiet kind that erodes emotional excitement, and the joy and willingness to see things through to the end. You get checked boxes versus meaningful input.

I suggest looking not just at capability – skills and readiness but identity, motivational drivers and energetic congruence. Is there are way to figure this out for everyone working for you? Absolutely. Will it take some time? Most certainly! But this is what needs to happen if you are still trying to figure out why you aren’t realizing your vision, despite having competent professionals on board.
