Fear has taken me out of acting on numerous occasions.
The fear to speak up, share a truth, defend or hold fast to an unpopular position.
They say the reverse is true – that action will take you out of fear. I don’t know that you ever outdistance fear, but taking action, forming supportive habits, making progress – boosts your confidence more and more as you continue moving forward.
Consistent action, especially in a particular area, brings with it the see of creativity. You take focused action regularly, and you find yourself thinking more about what you’re doing, how you could improve.
You write something and then you think – is this the best approach? Is this the only application? Can I view it through a different lens.
Momentum builds.
Try stopping a train. HA!
One of the things we stop acting on as we get well into adulthood is dreaming. That’s for children. We stop dreaming. We don’t allow ourselves to imagine.
Lewis Carroll tells us
Imagination is the only weapon in the war against reality.
Your imagination allows you to reshape reality. It challenges rules. It asks “what if?”
I guess the goal is not to erase fear but to take action daily and to use our imagination to inspire us to create the solutions we know will change the world for the better.
What is one specific ACTION step you will take TODAY toward the
realization of your vision?
