I’ll be honest—I haven’t done this consistently. But every time I do, it helps.
We put so much energy into setting goals, crafting the perfect plan, and trying to follow through. But how often do we pause to review? To check in? To clear the slate and renew?
I’m becoming less and less interested in telling anyone how to do things. Truthfully, we all end up doing what suits us best. (Case in point: Rich Schefren’s weekly review framework? Didn’t stick for me. But I get the value of reflecting—or else the whole progressive part of goal realization just stalls.)
So here I am, looking back at the week.
- What did I accomplish?
- What didn’t I?
- Did I stick to my daily non-negotiables?
- Did I move any of my bigger goals forward?
- How did I spend my time?
- Was I wasteful—or just in need of rest?
- Did I drink enough water?
- Did I eat in a way that felt good in my body?
- Did I feel good about myself, most days?
- Did I walk? (Even for 30 minutes?)
- Was I focused on serving others—or on my own stuff?
- Am I tweaking things to death instead of telling people what I actually do?
These are the questions sitting in my journal this weekend.
What about you?
Do you have your own framework for review and renewal? Is there a ritual or rhythm that helps you reset for the week ahead?
I’d love to hear about it in the comments.
